Sheldon Cooper is a fictional character in the television series ‘The Big Bang Theory’ portrayed by Jim Parsons. He is a theoretical physicist at Caltech who lives with his buddy, Leonard Hofstadter. Sheldon is known for his brilliant mind but also his quirky behavior and idiosyncrasies. He is extremely practical, but this comes at a cost of often being rude to others. Sheldon has many interests, including comic books, video games, and sci-fi TV shows. He is neurotic to the point of insanity, he’s exceptionally clever and not afraid to show it and he’s completely clueless about social norms. All of these add up to create one hilarious character on the hit TV show. Although he pretends to be a guy with no feelings whatsoever, he genuinely cares about his friends. Here is a list of the best Sheldon Cooper moments from the show.
Need for closure
Amy teaching him to deal with closure leads to a few hilarious moments in the show. Is he ever cured of his need for closure? We never got to know! Sheldon’s desire for closure is something that could be used to vex him if the information fell into the wrong hands.
To win a fancy dress competition, the gang dressed up as members of the Justice League and Sheldon chose to become the Flash. So, when he goes to speak to Penny next door, he knocks at lightning speed that is 30,000 times.
You are a slave
He doesn’t know how to behave in a social situation. Once, Sheldon had to pay a visit to the HR Department as Alex, his aide filed a complaint against him. This scene is brilliant from the very beginning to the end. Mrs. Davis, the head of HR told Sheldon of the behavior that had brought him there. In the process of defending himself, he called the dark-skinned Mrs. Davis a ‘slave’, referencing her biological urges, and refused to acknowledge the double meaning.
During one of his most anxious times, he broke into a ball pit. To be frank, he was trying to build molecules to help with his work problem. He tried many other things like peas and marbles but nothing seemed to work in his mind. Leonard threatened that he would have to drag him out, so Sheldon avenged by turning the situation into a game of chase. Sheldon buried himself beneath the balls and burrowed to various places in the ball pit; occasionally popping up and calling out his famous ‘bazinga’ as he did so.
Drunk Sheldon Cooper
Sheldon doesn’t drink alcohol, so it doesn’t take much of liquor for him to get a little merry. The best drunken moment of Dr. Sheldon Cooper is when he receives The Chancellors Award. The entire episode was based around Sheldon trying to overcome his fear of presenting to a large gathering. Whilst sitting in the audience, waiting to be called to the stage, Sheldon begins to feel uncomfortable. Penny passed him a glass of wine to calm his nerves and he quickly gulped it down, shortly followed by another and the fun began!
