Finally Game Of Thrones Season 7 has come to an end. There are a lot of unsolved mysteries left to the viewers’ imagination. Season 7 Episode 7 was jam packed with ice dragon’s action, Cersei’s plotting and another sensual incestuous romance. Finally, the evil Littlefinger was put to an end by the Stark sisters. Cersei’s ultimate betrayal wasn’t something that was unexpected. Cleganebowl was officially confirmed. Jon and Dany took it to the next level which was a little creepy since they did the deed while Bran and Samwell were talking about Jon’s true parentage implying that he is actually her nephew. The Wall finally came crashing down as the Night King’s ice dragon melted it with the blue flame.

Amidst all this, something really strange happened. While Jon and Dany were doing the deed, the camera turned to a suspicious-looking Tyrion as he was seen roaming in disappointment in the hallway. His face looked ominous and many fans have speculated why. Let us take a look at this Tyrion Lannister Theory.
Reason For Tyrion’s Treason
Earlier in the episode, Tyrion spends some time alone with his sister, where he ends up making a deal to make a truce between Daenerys and Cersei. He reveals that he doesn’t wish to destroy his family. What could that possibly mean? If he is really helping Dany win the war then it is pretty obvious that Dany wins and the Lannister are destroyed. He also said that he immensely loved her children, Tommen and Myrcella and Cersei believed that. He sounded quite genuine when he said both these things.
In the books, Dany’s fate is foreshadowed by a prophecy that claims she is going to face three betrayals. One betrayal will be for blood, second will be for gold and the third for love. It seems like Tyrion is going to be one of those betrayals. He might have made a deal with Cersei after the scene was suddenly cut. Considering Tyrion and Cersei hate each other, it would be an amazing plot twist.

Possibilities for Tyrion Lannister Theory
- Tyrion knew Cersei was never actually going to head north to fight the army of the dead and he told her to lie about that. There was a shot of Tyrion watching Jon enter the ship cabin, looking sullen. This betrayal explains maybe why he looked sad in the end when he started to realize the reality of his treason.
- It’s easy to assume that like many men who crossed paths with Daenerys, Tyrion, has developed feelings for the Mother of Dragons. However, throughout the time that he has known Dany, he’s never expressed any romantic feelings towards her.
- G.R.R.M’s original draft of GOT featured a love triangle between Arya Stark, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister– so it is possible the showrunners have changed that idea into a Dany, Jon, and Tyrion love triangle.
- The Tyrion Lannister Theory that makes perfect sense is Tyrion might have promised Cersei that her child will rule Westeros. Since he saw the possibility of Dany conceiving after she made out with Jon, he panicked.
Although, director, Jeremy Podeswa confirmed that Tyrion was unsettled, but for a completely different reason.
“It is a moment that’s open to interpretation,” Podeswa explained, “but I have my own feelings as to what it was about. And I certainly talked to Peter about it too. For me, what it was is that Tyrion is always thinking a few steps ahead about everything and I think that Daenerys and Jon hooking up in this way – it creates a complication. The consequences of this complication, at this point, are unknown.”
“I think so much depends on both of these characters,” he continued, “and whenever you mix romantic feelings into things when it comes to people who were previously just colleagues with a common enemy now having a different relationship, it’s difficult. How will this affect the decisions they make? How will affect things moving forward? For Tyrion, who’s a strategist, this becomes a potential problem because it’s a big question mark. What are the consequences of this going to be?”
