Debbie Reynolds Dies One Day After Daughter Carrie Fisher’s Demise

The world cinema lost many stars in the year 2016, and the newest name on this list long list of Hollywood celebs we lost in 2016 is of Debbie Reynolds, legendary actress and proud mother of Carrie Fisher. The news of Reynolds’ demise just one day after Carrie Fisher’s death left all of her fans and close relatives appalled.

Although she appeared in dozens of movies, her stardom rose to new heights after ‘Singin’ In the Rain.’ Reynolds starred opposite to actors like Gene Kelly, Tony Curtis, Frank Sinatra, Donald O’Connor, Dick Van Dyke and Fred Astaire. Her only Academy Award Nomination for best actress came for the famous musical “The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964).”

After Carrie Fisher’s death, now Debbie is survived by her son Todd Fisher, a producer and actor. Debbie received uncalled for attention when her husband and famous singer Eddie Fisher began affair with Elizabeth Taylor. Debbie and Todd divorced in 1959, after which Todd got married to Taylor. Both Debbie and Taylor (who eventually separated from Eddie Fisher) ┬ámade peace years later in 2001 movie ‘These Old Broads.’
